Denver tour for 3 hours

Denver, the capital of Colorado, dates back to the Old West era. It has a nickname, the Mile High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile 5280 feet or 1609.3 meters above sea level. The Denver metro area has about 3000000 residents. In 2016, Denver was named the best place to live in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.

We will start our tour from the Capitol building. You will find out about the history of the building's construction.  After that we will visit the famous Brown Palace hotel. Among its guests have been Presidents of the USA Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Warren Harding, Harry S. Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Bill Clinton. A famous musician from the group Beatles also stayed in this hotel. Our next stop will be at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. It is the largest theatrical complex of its kind in the country with 10 theaters, including the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the Buell Theatre and Boettcher Concert Hall. Next to this complex is the Convention Center with the famous sculpture of a huge blue bear looking through the window.   After this stop, we will proceed to the part of Denver known as LODO (lower downtown). The whole city of Denver started from the small piece of land in LODO called Larimer Square. From here we'll go to Union Station, which is the main railway station of the city and which recently underwent a complete renovation. The station is a major transportation hub for Denver and is also a stop for Amtrak's Chicago to San Francisco passenger trains. The construction of the railroad played a critical role in the economic development of Denver. We'll also see the nearby former Red Light District. After that we'll make a stop at the 16th Street Mall, a mile long pedestrian only street, and we'll pass 17th street which is the business center of Denver. We'll return to the Capitol building at the end of the tour, we'll talk about the modern life of Denver, about the marijuana business and its impact on Colorado.

It is possible to combine a Denver tour with a tour to the west of Denver and then it will take about 8 hours.
